Joseph Peter LaSorsa (born April 29, 1998 in Mount Kisco, NY) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Washington Nationals system. He made his MLB debut in 2023 for the Tampa Bay Rays.

According to Geneanet.org and FamilySearch.com, the surname La Sorsa (or Lasorsa) has its roots in Italy, most specifically in Bari and in Sicily.

LaSorsa attended Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, New York, and played for the school's baseball team. In his senior year, he led Iona Prep's baseball team to the Catholic High School Athletic Association championship. He enrolled at St. John's University and played college baseball for the St. John's Red Storm.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected LaSorsa in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB draft. He made his professional debut that year with the Hudson Valley Renegades. He did not pitch professionally in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joe played for the Italian national baseball team in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. His three games pitched would tie for the team lead. In his debut, he relieved Vinny Nittoli in the 7th with one out, one on and a 2-1 lead over Cuba. He hit Dayán García then Yoelkis Guibert hit into a force and Yoán Moncada went down swinging. Matt Festa took over in the 8th. He came up big in the last game of pool play, with a quarterfinal spot at stake against the Netherlands. He succeeded Andre Pallante with the bases loaded in the 6th and no one out, with three MLB vets coming up. He got Didi Gregorius to pop up then struck out Jonathan Schoop and Roger Bernadina to escape the jam. Nittoli took over for him and Italy advanced to the next round. Against the powerful Samurai Japan team that won the title, LaSorsa's hot tourney went cold.

LaSorsa was assigned to the Triple-A Durham Bulls in 2023, making nine appearances with a 3.86 earned run average. On May 28, 2023, the Rays selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues for the first time. He made his major league debut the next day.
