Mike Conforto was born in Seattle, WA. The New York Mets selected him in the first round, with the 10th overall selection of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.
Michael made his big league debut on July 24, 2015. He started in left field and went 0-for-3 but drove in a run with a groundout in a 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In his next game, July 25th, he went 4-for-4, including 2 doubles, and scored 4 runs in a 15-2 rout of the Dodgers. By driving in a run with a bases loaded hit-by-pitch the next day, he became only the second player in Mets history to drive in a run in his first three major league games.
Michael finished the 2015 season with 9 home runs in 56 games played. The Mets won the 2015 National League pennant, making him the third player in history to have played in the Little League World Series, College World Series, and Major League World Series. He hit two home runs in Game 4 of the 2015 World Series (00:04:10, 00:08:30), becoming the first rookie to homer twice in a world series game since Andruw Jones in the 1996 World Series. Mike was named to the 2015 Topps All-Star Rookie Team, and was voted onto the 2017 NL All-Star Team. Mike is on Twitter @mconforto8.
Mike's father played inside Linebacker at Penn State, and his mother, Tracie, was a 3x Olympic gold medalist swimmer.
