Andrew Lee Cannizaro (born December 19, 1978 in New Orleans, LA) is a former Major League Baseball infielder who played for the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays between 2006 and 2008, and a former head baseball coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Andy started at shortstop as a freshman for Tulane University, and was a multi-year All-Conference team pick. He led the Green Wave to their first College World Series, in which Andy hit .500. At the time, he held Tulane single season and career records for hits (118/350), doubles (34/85) and stolen bases (52/128).

The New York Yankees drafted him in the 7th round of the 2001 amateur draft and assigned him to the Staten Island Yankees, where he batted .283/.351/.335 but only stole 5 in 8 tries and ground into 15 double plays, the most in the New York-Penn League. Moving up to the Tampa Yankees, he hit .249/.339/.311 and followed with a .276/.337/.352 year for the Trenton Thunder.

In 2004, Cannizaro repeated at Trenton and improved to .314/.385/.396. He split 2005 between the Thunder (.248/.298/.307) and the Columbus Clippers (.253/.352/.353). The next year, 2006, he had a .276/.367/.380 line with 32 doubles for the Clippers and made his MLB debut with the Yankees, going 2 for 8 with a homer and five runs as a pinch hitter and pinch runner. He would only return for a game and an at bat with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2008.

Once his playing days ceased, Cannizaro was a scout for the Yankees in the south for five years. He was an assistant coach at LSU from 2014-2016. He then replaced John Cohen as head coach at Mississippi State. Andy resigned in February 2018 when it was revealed he had an extramarital affair with an athletic department employee. In 2019, he became the head coach at Holy Cross School in New Orleans.
