Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Christopher Michael Bando is a former catcher in the 1980s, spending most of his career with the Cleveland Indians before playing for the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics.

In the 1978 MLB draft, Chris was selected by the Cleveland Indians as their second round pick. He saw his first Major League action in 1981.

Chris was later a Milwaukee Brewers coach from 1996 to 1998, while his brother Sal was the team's General Manager. He was a Brewer scout in 1999 and was the Director of Coaching, Player Development, & Manager of the International Baseball League of Australia in 2000.

He was also the hitting coach for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2003 and an advance scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2005. In 2009, Bando was an assistant coach at The Master's College. He became the head coach of San Diego Christian College in 2010. He also managed the Texas AirHogs of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, and the New Orleans Zephyrs.

Bando has over 30 years in professional baseball and player development, where he has ample experience as a player, scout, coach, and manager. Chris is the brother of Sal Bando.
