"He (Vinny Capra) can hit a fastball, that’s for sure. He's got some speed, he runs the bases. And the versatility. In this day and age, if you can play multiple positions out there, it really helps you, you start climbing the ladder. He has that ability to … lift guys up a little bit." - Mordecai, Mike. New Hampshire Fisher Cats Manager in Richmond Times-Dispatch, 14 June 2019.

Vinny was born in Melbourne, Florida in 1996. He has played for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Pittsburgh Pirates in MLB.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected Capra in the 20th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. He hit .356 and .327 in his two years at Richmond, and would likely have been drafted higher had he been taller than 5' 8". He was assigned to the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians, and was later promoted to the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts. Capra did not play professional baseball at any level in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic's cancellation of the minor league season. In 2021, he appeared in 79 games for the Fisher Cats and Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, and set new career-highs with a .316 batting average, 10 home runs, and 58 RBIs.

The Blue Jays promoted Capra to the major leagues on April 29, 2022 after Cavan Biggio was placed on the COVID list. He made his major league debut on May 1.

His older brother Nick and twin brother John played college baseball, although neither made it to the professional ranks. He is not related to either Buzz Capra or Nick Capra, who played in the 1970s and 1980s respectively.
