Michael David Bertotti (born January 18, 1970 in Jersey City, NJ) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. Mike played college baseball for Iona College. before playing three seasons at the major league level for the Chicago White Sox. He was signed by the White Sox in the 31st round of the 1991 amateur draft and played his first professional season with their Class-A (Short Season) Utica Blue Sox in 1991, and his last with the New York Yankees' Triple-A Columbus Clippers in 2001.

After being promoted to Birmingham, Mike admitted he developed butterflies after discovering his locker was next to Michael Jordan, but figured his anxiousness would be eased by the arrival of other players. He did not expect that Jordan would be the first to arrive in the clubhouse, clocking in more than 90 minutes before check-in time. Jordan strolled up to Bertotti and introduced himself. "I was in awe, I'm like, 'Hi, Mr. Jordan, my name is Mike Bertotti. He's like, 'yeah, Michael Jordan,' I go, 'Yeahhh, I know who you are.'"

During the basketball great's time in MiLB with the Birmingham Barons, Mike had a front-row seat to the media circus that formed after every Barons game that season. Reporters swarmed Jordan and fired question after question as Mike listened.

When the media gaggle wasn’t present, Bertotti and Jordan talked baseball. Jordan was 31 years old at the time and hasn’t played baseball since his senior year in high school. Pitchers weren’t throwing Jordan many fastballs; he was receiving a steady diet of breaking pitches and struggling at the plate. Mike told him how to identify each pitch by its spin and the small amount of time needed to react. Bertotti and others, including Terry Francona, agreed that Jordan's talent, physical ability and drive would have resulted in a successful MLB career if he chosen that path originally.

Mike finished with a 3-1 record at the MLB level with a 7.63 ERA and a 2.022 WHIP.
